sewing day... and a visitor

Today's a home day. I was caught in the rain a few too many times yesterday and got a little chilled. So I'm glad that I have orders to work on... and I don't have to venture out in the rain today!

On my sewing table... ...visit Brown Bag Bibs for the whole picture!

And meet the not-so-little visitor we had last night... ewww! And that's Robyn's hand holding the bucket - NOT mine! Heck, I think I was brave just to get near enough to take the pictures!

sew frustrating...

I was FINALLY on a role with sewing Brown Bag Bibs and diaper totes over the past couple of days, and it felt SO good! (Sometimes I really have to be in the mood to do bibs... after 11 years of making them, the appeal is not always there!) And then, wouldn't you know it, my sewing machine needle breaks and I'm at a standstill! Ah, the joys!
...does anyone need anything from town this morning, 'cause I guess I have to go shopping...

Do I do bibs? Yes, I do bibs!

... And here we have the world famous (or at least Abbotsford, B.C. famous) Brown Bag Bibs!

Brooke, have a peek and let me know if there's one here you'd like for the little man...

For the most part, right on track

So the end of my "week" without kids has arrived. The girls will be home this evening and I hear they had a great time with their grandparents.

I had a great week too, and accomplished most of what I set out to do.

The tally looks a bit like this:
1 Sea Wall bikeride with Robyn
3 new stitcheries
1 dinner and walk around White Rock with friends
1 dentist appointment
5 tooth fairy pillows
1 custom sign
1 girls' day out with Andrea
4 bib and shoulder throw combos, almost finished
12 open stock bibs, almost finished
1 lunch date with my sister and grandma
...and 1 semi-clean house

It wasn't everything on my list, but I'm certain I couldn't have fit more in if I'd tried!

Have a great day! (I think I need a nap...)

Belated, but hopefully better than nothing!

Finally today we were able to pass on a small gift to the newest member of our family! Isaac is almost 8 weeks old already and it was about time that we welcomed his arrival!

Rob, I promise I have a great John Deere quilt on the go for him... it'll just have to be a surprise when you actually get it!He's a hunny and he looks great in plaid!

Yay for babies...

California bound

Heidi, thanks for your order! I hope your friend in California likes her piece of Canada! And Carrie, thank you for picking up your camo set. It's cool that you and Heidi got to re-meet after so many years!

Yay! It's actually not raining! (Sports Day for my kids just wouldn't be fun in the rain!)

Sunflowers in the Sort of Summertime

This cute little set of sunny flower essentials is another order I just completed. They're for a lady that my husband is re-doing a kitchen/great room for in her house. She will have a sunflower kitchen and so she chose this set to match her theme. (My husband Robyn does renovations for a living and is the BEST in town!) Contact me for more info about Robyn's Restorations... brownbagstudio@hotmail.com

I hope you like these pieces, Carol! I think the "Green Sleeves" added just the right touch! I know they made my rainy day a little less dreary!

Brown Bag Bibs

I started selling Brown Bag Bibs back in October 1997, when my first daughter, Emily, was a few months old. This teddy bear one is the bib that started it all.

Over the years, Brown Bag Bibs have traveled all over the world, even to orphanages in places like South Africa, Haiti, and Uzhgorod, in the Ukraine. It's been a blessing to be able to send gifts to these places, especially when I'm given pictures in return. It's also so great when I receive pictures showing other happy recipients in my bibs - these pictures have come from all over the country.

Thank you to all!

I currently have several new fabrics in stock and am planning on having a sewing day very soon. (My husband Robyn is thrilled at the prospect of having the job of attaching snaps to all these bibs for me!) If there's something you're looking for in particular, please let me know!

Take care,

~Kimberly
