spring break this & that...

The girls go back to school tomorrow after a spring break that was full of... well, not much of anything really. In a way it was nice, in a way it was too quiet, but it was what it was.

Emily worked for a week and a half at her school with a group of Japanese students. On the last day, there was a note in her bag what told her "she was calm, like a blanket over my fear..." and that the "cherry blossoms are beautiful like you". So nice to know she's making a good impression on those Japanese boys! Here we are one morning as we were heading out the door... must have been twin day!
Julianna and I did something a little crazy, and watched an entire season of "24" in less than 24 hours. We started at 6am and went until 3:30am the next morning. Great time with my girlie! No pics though, after all, we DID go for 21 1/2 hours! (It wasn't pretty!)

I've been sewing... of course. I finally finished my 2011 blocks! Just the blocks... not the quilt...
And I pieced this little cutie. I had two options to finish it... with sashing...
or without...
I'm going "without" and will quilt it soon. The pattern is "All a Flutter" by Cotton Way.
Julianna applied for her first job. Be still my heart.
Poppa had a birthday, and we threw him a little party...
I discovered Jamberry Nail Wraps, co-hosted a party, fell in love, and am joining the company on April first. So. Very. Excited.
I think Emily is too... this is her first attempt at a nail wrap, and we loved how it coordinated with some washi tape at the scrapbook store yesterday! Fun!
So that was it... our spring break in a nutshell. Never let it be said that we can't find ways to entertain ourselves, because as Julianna demonstrated, where there's a will (and a bunch of unattended bananas and a sharpie) there's always a way.
