happy scrappy skirt...

If you know my past experiences with sewing clothes, you'll know that they were pretty sad indeed. I've bought patterns through the years, I've admired them, and even taken them out of the packaging once or twice, and then passed them on to worthier hands than mine. So I really surprised myself when I bought a little skirt pattern on etsy the other day. It's the "Happy Scrappy Skirt" and I love it. A lot.

After I chose my fabrics, English helped me sew them all together. Yeah, sewing with a curious kitten that close to the machine is really not that fun, but we managed.
I had to add ric rac. There was no question about it.
The finished skirt...
*Edited to add... I DID have to play around a little with the fit after it was sewn together, to get it the way I wanted it to be. But I guess that's better than falling into a "mold" with sizing!
And here I am (hopefully rocking it... please tell me if it's a "fail!")
I'm thinking one in anything by Bonnie and Camille would be pretty much perfect! What colors would you choose?
