the wild side...

I got a custom order of a reversible baby blanket finished up last night (finally!) and will be happy to see it go to its new owner. It took me forever to tackle since the stretchy-ish t-shirt-ish fabric was way out of my comfort zone. It was intended to be a pair of blanket covers rather than sewn all into one, but after three failed attempts and a second opinion from a friend who really does know how to sew, this is what I came up with. But all's well that ends well, and I even made a pillow to match.

And on the wild little kitten front at our place... well, see for yourself... and does anyone know what the deal is with the foot in the water dish? Because cute though it may be, it's a habit... and a messy one too!

Cute kitty! Hmmm...foot in the water bowl...I had a foster kitty that actually would stick her foot in the water bowl and and then lick it off. I have no idea why or how it started because like I said she was a foster kitty. Maybe your kitten is leading to doing the same thing? Or may try a different bowl? A bowl with a different rim...bigger around might be an answer.

I really dislike stretchy fabrics, so you have my admiration for tackling such a project! I have had a few cats thro the years who need to do the paw in the water, some grow out of it, some don't, One cat we had, only used it when reaching inside a glass for the dregs of milk left by one of the kids, but drank normally when presented with a nice wide bowl to drink from. One cat we had was similar to yours, except only two splotches on the side, we named him Ditto...

we have a cat that also uses her paw to get water. And when we give her canned food she does the same thing. Our vet said that maybe the bowl is to deep. That cats don't like their wiskers to get wet or touch the side of a bowl. Good luck
