but God is good...

On pins and needles.

That's the way it's been around our home for the past while... like we've been on pins and needles. My hubby spent the better part of two months at home with an injury and so our family (who has one parent who works outside the home) has been temporarily unemployed. That's tough to deal with, but God is good.  About a month ago, I took a trip to emergency and found out that I have a heart arrhythmia. It was good being able to put a name to the funny heartbeat but it will take a while to get used to since when it happens, it usually gets my attention in a big way. It's not exactly tough to deal with...it's  just different... but God is good. Our older daughter is being treated for ligament issues with both of her knees and it's a concern for us all... and since she'll be away this weekend on a band trip where there will be a lot of walking involved, it could be tough for her to deal with, but God is good. And our younger daughter fell hard on Tuesday during long jump in PE and sprained her ankle quite badly. That in itself is tough to deal with, but the worst part is the fact that she's having to give up her place on her volleyball team since she can no longer play out the season with them... and Provincials are this weekend. It will be hard sitting on the sidelines, but God is good.
Let me tell you, it can be so hard when things don't go your way, (and I realize that in the great big world we live in, our troubles are very small but that doesn't make them any easier to live through).  It's tough when the body hurts and the numbers don't balance. But God is good. Even when we feel like we can't see in a straight line, He's seeing us through.
We are so thankful for the support of our families... for the phone calls across the miles, the groceries on our table and the gas in our car. No income doesn't make the bills stop coming, but our families have been wonderful at holding our hands through the rough patches.
I just wanted so share where we're at right now. I'm so happy that it's starting to feel like maybe, finally, there's a tiny light at the end of the tunnel. It's been pretty dark for us for quite a while now, but God is good, and He's seen us through.
Smile! For this is the day that the Lord has made...

Yes, God is good and sometimes it takes trials to really realize how much we need Him! I too hope that things will start going better for you!

Thank you for that witness. Yes, indeedy, He is good. His plan for us is good. None of these difficulties is wasted when we place ourselves in his hands. You are in my prayers.

Big hugs to you Kimberly, I feel the calm worry through your written words but faith as well that all will be worked out in the end, God IS good. You've had a lot to deal with...being the Mother and the one who has to keep it all together and comfort everyone else as they struggle is challenging. You do it with grace, and I admire you!
