holiday (eating and) stitching...

Wow, it's been a while since my last post! We spent this weekend eating belated Thanksgiving turkey dinners, celebrating my sister's birthday, and just hanging out with my family. I've come to the realization that turkeys, birthdays, and families are all good things... and they're also somewhat related.
I also spent time working on a new project for Christmas, and I am so enjoying it. Our weather has finally turned its back on summer and the rain is falling, so I don't feel guilty curling up in a chair with a project. Oh, and since my first market of three in a row is in just over a month, the timing is pretty much perfect.

Love the Christmas project! Can you tell me what is your background fabric? I am thinking of starting a similar embroidery and planning to use a linen piece from my quilting stash.
