my Tuesday timeout...

Yay for routine! As you know, I'm a Monday person... a September and January person... a shower and coffee before my day can begin person. This morning, it felt really good to get back to something that's become a weekly routine over the past year or so... my Tuesday timeout with my best girlfriend, Andrea. After the school dropoff, I got right down to business, finishing the last bit of binding on this little lovely, which I've titled "Fabric~Thread~Scissors"...

Second on today's to-do list was a Halloween sampler that I never thought would be finished. I pieced it maybe a couple of years ago and it's been sitting ever since. I was new to machine quilting at the time, and for a novice quilter, stippling black on black was no easy feat. The frustration won and so the project found itself in the bottom of the storage bin. Well, this morning I shook it out, picked out the stitches I'd put in and decided to give it another go. So. Happy. I. Did. I have about half of the binding left to handstitch and then she's all finished...

Did I say Yay for routine? I meant Yay for routine AND Yay for quilts that get a second chance! (Oh... and Yay for Tuesday timeouts!)

The scissors block finishes up those spools perfectly! By the way, come visit The Needle and Thread Network Blog and link up works in Progress on Wednesdays! (just google it!) Great stuff by Canadian needlework bloggers!

I love the Halloween quilt!! Now if I could just organize myself as well as you maybe I would find the time to practice my new found quilting skills!
