hair today, donated tomorrow...

I have a daughter with a very soft heart. (Well, two daughters that are softies in their own way, but this story is just about one of them.)

Emily was struck deeply when my mom was diagnosed with cancer about a year and a half ago. Just before my mom's chemo treatments began, Emily cut several inches off her hair to donate to make a wig for another cancer patient.
Well, she recently got the bug again and made a very big decision... she wanted to shave her head for another donation. Robyn and I were really impressed and told her that while we admired her desire to take it all off, we'd allow a clipper cut, but not a complete, um, exposure. So last night my sister (who is a hairdresser) did the deed for Emily, and through the laughter and the tears, I caught what I could with my cell phone camera.  Before...
During...
Bahahaha!
And after...
My gorgeous girls together...
Me and my baby... when did she get so grown up?

She is beautiful, and what an amazing heart she has. I think it's wonderful that she gave her hair, and also that you as parents allowed her to make such a big decision.
