I'm in a canning bind!

Although I've never canned anything in my life, I've always been a lover of all things canned. Pickles, peaches, pears... perfect. Tomatoes... to die for. Asparagus... awesome. Salsa... sign me up. Marinated mushrooms... mmm. You get the idea.

This is my latest on-the-go quilt. I pieced the canning jars last week and just finished the sashing and borders today. Now the question is, what to bind it in? I was planning on just using the brown print but one of my kiddos is voting for the cream muslin, and the other thinks I should go with scrappy fruits and veggies. I think the latter might be lost with the borders being rather dark. But it might work... I just don't want to waste any of this delicious fabric!

Any ideas to throw in the pot?

This is really cute! Did you buy those fabrics at fabricland? I saw all sorts of fruit/veggie prints there recently. I vote for the cream colour for the binding. It would set the quilt off better than the brown, and I wonder if a mixture of the prints for the binding might be a bit too much?

Very cute quilt! I would also vote for the cream; I think the other would be too "busy". Wish I were a creative as you are!

I would go with cream binding as well..but if you really wanted to use up some of the fruits for binding, then maybe do a very slim muslin border and then the fruit binding? either way it'll look great! seeya in a few hours for TTO!

The jars are great. I love jar quilts. My first vote for binding is cream. Second would be a black. Black is a good frame color.
