it's beginning to smell a lot like Christmas...

One of my very favorite things about Open House time is spending time making all the yummy treats to sell... candied nuts, nuts & bolts, fudge, shortbread, breton brittle... the smells alone go straight to my hips! {Click here for a few of our favorite recipes.}

Today I played hookey from church. Instead, my day was spent mostly scattering garlands around my house and standing and stirring in my kitchen. I got three pans of the brittle made and in the fridge, two double batches of the candied nuts made and packaged, and one pan of fudge is cooling as I type. The dishes are caught up, I'm on the third load of laundry, my hair got a necessary coloring (but you REALLY needed to know that, right?), and there's a pizza in the oven. Oh, and we made it through Julianna's homework.
How was your Sunday? Mine was great but...

I. am. done.

I'm glad to hear that you will have your open house after all. I am sure your customers will be very pleased.

My Sunday was quite uneventful. I spent all day wondering where those devine smells were coming from!! yummo!!

Went to church this morning, put up more Christmas decor this afternoon, and had a lovely dinner at the 'other' Friesen's tonight! But sadly, I don't have any of these yummy goodies made yet:) Good work girl!
