header collage how-to...

So I've gotten a couple requests to try to explain how I did the photo collage on my header... I'll do the best I can!

I use Picasa when I upload my photos, and store them in files rather than albums. Today I made a new file folder labled "quilts" to make a new collage. My header has 10 photos in it, this one has 25.
Once I had my selected pics in the new file, I highlighted them all (click on the first pic to highlight, then press shift and click on the last pic in the collection - it should highlight all of them for you)

At the top of the page, under the title of your file folder, you have the option to play the whole collection in a slideshow, create a movie, or create a collage. Click collage and it takes you to the next step. I found that with my header, I liked the result... 10 photos seemed to be a nice number. Today's with 25 was too many for a nice mosaic, so I went with a grid pattern and liked it better.

After I saved the collage, I went back and returned the photos into their origional files... I like to be organized that way!

*My girlfriend Andrea talked me through this process... so I guess that you could say that today's lesson was brought to you by Just d'Andy!

Thanks Kimberly, I'm going to try it but first have to sign up for Picasa. You have a beautiful home everything just flows from room to room...great job!

Thank you for doing this. I use Photobucket but I guess I could transfer everything to Picasa.

You did a great job of explaining this.
