"got your homework finished?"

Have you ever uttered those words to your kids? It's been science fair time and book report season around here this week for Julianna and boy, am I glad it's behind us! (Notice I said US and not just HER?) To make a long story short, here are the projects - a "Why use Baking Powder" science project complete with BP-less biscuits, and a "Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" crossword puzzle in which the front looked like a wardrobe door - including a keyhole.

And would you believe that when I delicately cleared my throat and waited patiently with arms outstretched for a heartfelt "thanks, Mom" what I got was "I'll be sure to pick you a nice nursing home for all your help, Mom" ...? !?

...that little twerp...

Oh yeah ... we're so there right now too. The 3rd grade space fair is coming up next month.

"How is a star formed?" is Connor's question of choice. The research and report writing are happening at school, but the display board and accompanying project are to be done at home. Oh my!

Fortunately he's extremely excited and full of ideas. *sigh*
